Career Readiness

We prepare students for their careers by providing a quality education, helping them develop professional skills, and build a valuable network.

Start Your Career Journey

Exploring majors and careers is a valuable part of the student experience. Research, self-assessment, and experience can help students with the career decision-making process.

Career Assessments

Through the Center for Career Development and Academic Exploration, you have access to several assessments to assist with your career exploration needs. Individual appointments and the resources on the center’s website will help you connect your results to UT majors and careers.

Explore Majors and Careers

It is normal to change your major or remain undecided about a career path. Data shows that one third of students change their majors during their college career, and ten percent know little about their intended careers. College faculty and staff and professionals within the Center for Career Development and Academic Exploration are available to help!

Develop Career Tools

A professional resume and cover letter are some of the most important tools in your career readiness belt, especially as you explore internships and apply for full-time jobs. Center for Career Development and Academic Exploration staff can help you with this and more—networking, interviewing, professional attire—the list goes on!

Career Fairs

The Herbert College of Agriculture and its departments host a variety of careers fairs in the areas of agriculture, natural resources, construction sciences, and turfgrass. These events are typically held in the fall, providing valuable opportunities for students to interact with employers and explore internships and full-time jobs.

The Center for Career Development and Academic Exploration offers several job fairs through the academic year, which all UT students are welcome to attend.
