The Herbert College of Agriculture Dean’s Office has a new team member. Mary Beth Johnson, newly named director of finance and budget analysis, began her new role in February. Mary Beth joins Herbert from UT Extension, where she served as a financial specialist. She brings with her an MBA from Lincoln Memorial University, as well as a wealth of experience in developing training and process improvements, preparing audit reports, analyzing and improving payroll operations, and supervising operations of multiple departments including accounting, payroll, and purchases.
Mary Beth will work closely with several departments in the college helping to implement the new budget model, as well as work with scholarships and grants. She is most excited about the positive impact she hopes to have on students’ lives, especially in agriculture. Having grown up in East Tennessee, she is no stranger to the field.
When not in the office, Mary Beth finds joy in spending time with her family.
We are so excited to have Mary Beth join us, so please help us welcome her to the Herbert College of Agriculture!
