The Ambassador team, led by Director of Enrollment Services, Cassie Johnson, hosted several Vol 103 sessions for incoming first year students as part of the New Vol Experience. This new, exciting orientation experience breaks down the Volunteer ways into six modules, combining in-person and virtual components to support the onboarding and transition of new students throughout their entire first year.

The Herbert Ambassadors are a student organization made up of students who are selected to serve the college, its student body, and their community through the recruiting of prospective students, representing and supporting the college, and promoting public awareness of opportunities within the college and the field of agriculture.

Cassie, alongside Herbert Ambassadors Kailyn Kosko and Jim Jenkins, welcomed hundreds of new Herbert students, and their families, to Morgan Hall for these sessions. Kailyn and Jim led groups of the incoming students around campus for a tour, giving them insight and real life advice for their time as a Herbert student. Cassie led the parent portion, answering questions and highlighting how well Herbert takes care of their students.

The newest additions to Herbert walked away from Vol 103 having made meaningful connections with academic and campus life resources as well as other new students. Besides the stops along Ag Campus with the Ambassador crew, families visited other places on campus like Rocky Top Dining Hall, the Student Union, and a variety of residence halls. Transitioning to college can be tricky, and sessions like these offer valuable insight on the tips and tricks to find success, as well as a sense of belonging, on our campus.

The Herbert Ambassador family shares the unique passion of introducing prospective students to our campus.
